The bikepacking community rode for Alex Pretti. #rideforalex I quickly changed the planned two-day fat bike tour with friends starting on Friday into an Alex Pretti memorial ride:
We met at noon on Friday at the bike track in Göttingen (with a first lap on the track), then headed to Eichsfeld with plenty of pushing passages, including a hobo fire, and continued the next day over snow-covered slopes. On Saturday evening, we lit a candle by the fire for Alex Pretti, who was also a bike packer, and remembered him. Later, the candle was brought into the hut and burned all night. That is/was – together with a donation – probably the most I can do from a distance… it’s all so sad! And hopefully not a glimpse into the future here in this country!
